SBM was founded in 1994 by Jean-Paul Simmler. From a French crop protection company we have grown into an international group present in 31 countries, with our own manufacturing, our own R&D and brands that gardeners across Europe know.

Our history
Known to Polish gardeners for decades
SBM Life Science Sp. z o.o. is part of the international, family-owned SBM group, founded in 1994 in Béziers, France. We have been active on the Polish market since 2016, when the group acquired the Bayer Garden home and garden portfolio from Bayer: products that Polish gardeners have known and trusted for decades.
In Poland we distribute the portfolio of the former Bayer Garden brand, which was rebranded in the 2018/2019 season and now trades under new names, among them Deltam (formerly Decis Ogród) and Magnicur Energy (formerly Previcur Energy). Under the Protect Garden brand we offer plant protection products, while Protect Home covers protecting the home against insects and rodents.

SBM is founded
Jean-Paul Simmler founds SBM by taking over a plant protection manufacturing site in Béziers, France.
- 2002
A formulation from Bayer
SBM acquires an insecticidal molecule (cypermethrin) from Bayer and develops it for the garden market.
- 2016
Acquisition of Bayer Jardin
SBM buys Bayer Jardin in Europe and Bayer Advanced in the USA, and SBM Life Science is born.
- 2019
Protect Home and Protect Garden
The Bayer brands become Protect Home and Protect Garden across Europe, today the pillars of our range.
